Placemaking consultant

Deborah provides placemaking and community engagement support. Based in London, she established her own consultancy, Placesmiths, building on 10 years’ experience in marketing and events management.  
 
Deborah specialises in stakeholder engagement, communications, placemaking and place management. Formerly a town centre manager for Lewisham, since 2017 she has been Project Lead as part of the Regeneration Team at Lewisham Council offering community engagement and communications support for a variety of projects, most notably the multi award-winning Team Catford. 
 
She brings over a decade of placemaking experiences having led innovative initiatives such as the pop-up shop, House of Catford, House of Lewisham and award-winning, Catford Food Market Previous work includes contributing to the Special Assistance Team to the Mayor of London for Cultural Curation and communications for Barnet, Bexley and Brent councils.
